Default CSS Help

Hi,

Not a coder but I've got pretty close to what I want... looking for a little extra help.

http://www.utahshutters.com/yp

Trying to get a background hover color for each of the three images so that people that hover over top can tell when they shift from one image/link to the next.

I tried using Firebug to imitate the hover on the main nav and that didn't work. The 2nd iteration was this:

#lpoptionsmap a:hover, #lpoptionsmap a:active {
color:#867970;
}

and that didn't work either. Anyone able to help me add the requisite CSS to make the background color change the size of my image map to the hex above?

Thanks
