I want to remove the bottom third (featured posts)

Hi all,

I'm thinking about completely removing the bottom third of the page, the featured posts section, as I currently don't have the content to go around and if I did fill it, I might be distracting visitors from the target pages.

What's the safest way of doing this? What bits of code should I remove?
