I would like an image in FCG but nowhere else

I thought I had read a similar thread but can't find it now - apologies if the answer is already on the forum.

I would like to display images in the Featured Content Gallery, but without having a thumbnail image appear or any reference to the post in the featured content sections below. Currently when I write a post and in Custom Fields I have 'articleimg' and 'thumbnail' then the images appear in the FCG and in the Featured Content below. This is fine.

But if I create 'articleimg' and don't create a 'thumbnail' image in Customer fields, it still places a default image "R" from the (revolution theme) the Featured Categories below. But I only want reference to this post to be in the FCG and not anywhere else.

Is there anything I can do to just put an image in the FCG? Thanks,
