Default Redirect without 301, Is it possible?

I have a client who is wanting to create an aggregate news site. The want to be able to create pages that auto redirect a click to the original source. I initially thought that setting up page redirects using 301 or 302 would be ideal. After talking with the client, this is not going to be the best solution.

I need to be able create a page that automatically redirects the user to the original content using a new window. I thought about using custom post types and creating specific fields to enter the various information, link url, image, etc. But my problem is figuring out the automatic redirect without using 301/302 .

Any ideas? Suggestions? Direction?
