Login or Sign In page

Hi, I would like to set up a Login/ Sign In link preferably on the upper right hand corner where the news and feedburner links are.

My concerns are:

1. What is the code or plug in to set that up?
2. What do I do in order to redirect the site to a login or registration page once the subscribers log in or sign in.
3. If it can be placed horizontally, that would look so much better
