retain formating in category page list

retain formating in category page list

Greetings all,

When we view a list of posts which fall under a category, we are currently getting an excerpt (one that is automatically generated, not one that we place in the excerpt field). That's all fine and good, but we would really prefer for all of the formatting to stay in place - like bold, italics, etc.

Is that even possible?

Secondly, I have tried to insert a 'read more' tag in posts and all it does in cut off the post when view in this list.
