Newbie Here -> How to Setup and View the Featured Content

Please be patient. I'm a newbie here and I created a blog that would looks like the "Revolution Lifestyle Demo". In the demo there are three big images that in every second it will fade away and swap to another image. I really don't know how to implement or set up that portion area assuming the the image are in the same sizes. The wordpress was properly installed but the featured content for the big images doesn't working, it only gave the page the default result in the area, says "Hello world! Welcome to WordPress. This is your first post. Edit or delete it, then start blogging". That was not im looking for, i want it really looks like as same result from the revolution lifestyle demo that was shown the faded images.
