Question Moving my Genesis and Child Theme from a Subdirectory to a Main directory

Hello :)

I have a fresh Wordpress install on a subdirectory, and have added my genesis and child theme there for customization work while my main site (also using Wordpress) stays active. I've also moved over my posts, pages and plugins. My question is, how can I move this subdirectory Wordpress install over to the main one without it turning into one giant conflicting file mess? Can I just copy the files over directly or...would that be too easy?
