Need to change the blog theme background.

Need to change the blog theme background.

Two things:

1. Remove the spacing at the top of the blog. (as seen in photo)

2. I have two images I would like to use for the blogs background. (background_left and background_right)

As seen in the photo I would like both of the images to attach themselves to the left and right side of the blog so that if the page is expanded (widescreen) the blog and side backgrounds will stay in the center.

Is this something that can be done?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.
