Default Having problems with NextGen slideshow conflicting with "something" on my page

I have a Nextgen Slideshow configured on a page and it briefly will flash the 1st slide, pause a long time, then continue on okay. I see this happening in Firefox. I posted a message out on Nextgen but no response. I thought it was probably the media player plugin on the page but disabled it and then even deleted it. Still the same thing is happening.

Here is the page:

How do I tell what is causing the conflict on the page? Maybe I need to look around too at other slideshow plugins. I am wiling to pay for a premium plugin too. I want one that does not pull from a post or page. Only one I can think of is Wp Cycle but maybe there are other ones to look at too.

Thanks!
