Disabling Comments on Home Page

I checked the "Enable Comments" on pages option under Genesis Theme Settings and the comments form shows up, as expected. I noticed the note "Comments and Trackbacks can also be disabled on a per post/page basis when creating/editing posts/pages," but I've been unable to find this option when editing my home page. Is anyone else having this problem? Where is this option supposed to be when editing a page?
