BPD and me sample child theme

Hi

i started off with the church theme but being a beginner it did not go well i think i didn't set enuff time to play around with i will use it on my new site when i finally get it up and i have more time to spend tweaking it. So me being me i went back to my old blog and used the child theme and it has worked wonders i do like it now its a lot more clear and neater just interested in anyone else's view. Am i doing anything wrong and does it look ok for a blog ?

Where can i improve and what's missing if anything thanks in advance for any comments wether they be positive or negative.
