How to use Share this that apppear on sites

I come across articles that have all the share buttons. When I see an article and I click on wordpress another window comes up asking me for the url. I enter it the the next window is to log in to my site. From there I am in the dashboard of Genesis and my theme. I dont know where this article is sitting or if it got in.
