Default What happens when I install a non-genesis theme along with the Genesis framework?

Happy New Year, everyone!!

I bought the StudioPress Pro-Plus package which gives me a lot of very nice Genesis child themes, from which I allow my clients to choose. However, I also have a bunch of non-Genesis themes ("Classic" themes) that I also allow my clients to choose from. If I install Genesis and then install a Classic theme as well, is there ANYTHING within the Genesis functionality that will make its way through to the theme? If not, is it even safe to have Genesis installed "beneath" a Classic theme?

Going one step further, is there a developer's guide or something somewhere that would walk me through how to make a Classic theme Genesis-compatible?

Thanks!
