As much a release for escalating frustration as it is for feedback
Wordpress is really great. Studiopress is really great. I am told that millions of people use Wordpress everyday for their site. I still marvel that if I want a plugin that fries an egg and does a handstand that I find one and that it really does fry the egg and do the handstand. With all this in mind - in the name of the almighty - why isn't there an ecommerce solution that really works. I mean really works. And a theme to house it in. It just seems incredible to me after 2-3 months frustration on a couple of projects that no-one has truly grasped this nettle. All the ecommerce solutions seem pretty buggy, the support sporadic or patronising (no I'm not a PHP ghuru but I am web, WP and CSS savvy and there must be tens of thousands of people like me). I'm so impressed with Studiopress but still wonder why there isn't an dedicated ecommerce theme. It doesnt have to have sliders or gizmos. It just needs to work. To be integrated with an existing ecommerce solution and do the basics. And do them well. Take the user from home to checkout without me doing 20 workarounds and explaining to the client 'Yes I know that most ecommerce sites have x or y but I'm afraid yours won't'. Rant over. Apologies Discuss. |
