Issue with Tabbed Widgets

trying to use a tab widget to no success -- think maybe the sidebar not wide enough? -- anyone have a cure?
also, i saw a very nice version of a tabbed sidebar in the unreleased version of this theme prior to REV2 -- does anyone know what was being used there?
