iPad 3 Display & Responsive Design
The Responsive Design seen in StudioPress themes to date seems to rely on a steady progression down in viewport resolution commensurate with actual physical screen size: e.g. 960px and above, for desktop screens; 600-960, for tablets; up to 600px, for smartphones; etc.
But if the iPad 3 comes with the rumoured 2048 x 1536 "Retina" display, it will presumably in effect be a 10inch tablet which appears to the theme as a large desktop monitor. So, presumably, the existing responsive CSS will serve up the "desktop" version of the layout, even though the screen is still only 10 inches, and so will have all of the wider layout crammed in to that width e.g. extra sidebars and so on.
Thoughts? Have I missed something?
