I have installed the plugin wp-ecommerce into my Genesis framework and Enterprise theme. I have a message that reads...
"WP e-Commerce is ready. If you plan on editing the look of your site, you should update your active theme to include the additional WP e-Commerce files. Click here to ignore and remove this box." There is a link attached to the "update your active theme". It takes me to a wp-ecommerce presentation page. On the right of that page is a column with this header... "No Theme files have been moved to your WordPress Theme Folder. WP e-Commerce provides you the ability to move your theme files to a safe place for theming control. If you want to change the look of your site, select the files you want to edit from the list and click the move button. This will copy the template files to your active WordPress theme." Below that paragraph are a series of checkboxes associated with php files and a button labeled "Move Template Files". Example files (first 4 only)... wpsc-featured_product.php wpsc-cart_widget.php wpsc-user-log.php wpsc-category-list.php I'm under the impression that I need to "copy the template files" to complete the installation of my plugin. But the text above doesn't really indicate to me what impact that will have on my theme. I'm hopeful someone here has used this plugin with Genesis and can give me some insight into what moving the templates does, and if it is a neccessary step to use the plugin. It's the "move your theme files to a safe place" part that makes me nervous. That indicates there's an unsafe place out there somewhere. Lon |
