Slider missing

I just noticed that the 'slider' is missing. I haven't done anything to make it disappear that I am aware of... it was there this afternoon.

• yes, I have the Genesis Slider plugin installed/turned on/configured (menu under >Genesis >Slider Settings)

I have not installed any new plugins... I should specify that it was a large 'rotating' slider across the top of the entire site (under the site top banner but above the articles), it was about 870 pixels across. I don't know if there was a code for it somewhere. I am reading about the Slider plugin on Genesis plugins pages and it appears to only talk about it like a sidebar widget thing. This was inside the home page but I don't see code for it (and I didn't remove anything).

My child theme is based on Serenity and I *might* have updated the Genesis Slider plugin... I'm reading that Serenity handles the slider differently. Again Help!!!

UPDATE: Still missing... I tried this fix and still doesn't work (no idea if I've made it worse)
