Sold Properties

This is the last post (in this batch) - I promise !

Handling of sold properties must be a universal question. Please consider building something into the theme itself for that, if at all possible. I believe each and every implementation will need a facility to handle sold properties, it will involve some customization, which will make upgrading more difficult (and increase the support burden).

Please can you make a recommendation as to how you would recommend implementing it, and please consider writing a short tutorial as to how to implement it.

The short answer is probably to implement a new Category for "Sold" and implement a specific page for it, very much as described in another thread. What concerns me is the discipline and coding involved to ensure that it doesn't get displayed in any other listings and pages as well as breaking things whilst implementing it. And then there is the support and upradeability concerns.

Ideally, I would like a quick way to mark a property to be marked as sold, which will cause it not to display anywhere, but only on a "sold" page. From a user's perspective an facility to view all the properties sold by an agent (in order to evaluate an agent) or in a specific area (to get a feel for what has been sold) may add value too. Would like to hear other users opinions about this too.

It would be nice to also have a noddy guide as to what files must be changed in which way, to achieve the desired effect.
