Cannot specify different categories for colums

Cannot specify different categories for colums

For some reason, I am unable to specify different categories on the Lifestyles theme for the three main content columns. They all just keep defaulting to the same thing. I change them in the theme options, but then they don't stick. I thought I remembered reading on the forum some additional code to add into the CSS to get it to work? But I can't find the thread anymore... Also the thumbnails do not work. Please help! Thanks!
