strange phenenomenon

Hello;

I received a 404 error in my GWT for this URL: http://psychiatristscottsdale.com/ta...cope-with-ocd/

So I put a redirect on it; this was a tag that I deleted because it was identical to the post. Strangely when I did a site:URL in Google to see if this tag page was indexed, it wasn't. Is this how post tags work in that they are ephemoral and don't get indexed by Google, yet they show up on searches? It seems strange that this URL would throw and error but not appear to be indexed?

Does anyone know about this?
