Suggest a theme / site layout for this website proposal

Hope to gather some suggestions to help choose the most appropriate theme and layout for a new site.

Have the domain name and ready to build a content-driven 'how to' website based on a heavily searched 'how to' term.

The primary purpose of the site is to build a community that drives traffic to a related business site. That business site will be the 'how to' site's principle sponsor/advertiser.

Any ideas or suggestions - or even questions - that will guide me towards an appropriate theme/style will be gratefully received. Thanks.
