Default FCG not accepting multi-word categories

I find that so long as I name my posts category as a single word (eg. "Featured") and then specify this single word "Featured" in Settings>Featured Content Gallery, the plugin works.

But if I wish to name the category as "Featured Case Studies" - both in the post as well as in the setiings of FCG - the plugin stops working.

Is there some embargo in having multi-word category names?

If I simply use one word names for the category, it looks a bit awkward when such a single word makes no sense on my sidebar menu among the list of categories on my site (eg. just to have a category called "Featured" makes no sense when it ought to read as "Featured Case Studies").
