Can't get excerpts to work properly on Featured page

Can't get excerpts to work properly on Featured page

My WP blog - http://stager.tv/blog used to allow me to customize an excerpt in the Excerpt field of the Edit-post page and then have that summary/description appear on the Featured page of my blog - next to the entry.

Now for some reason, it ignores the custom excerpt and instead uses the first few lines of the blog post.

Any help you can provide would be most appreciated.
