Joomla to WP ?s

Client is using gconverter to convert current Joomla site (which I know nothing about Joomla). We're setting up SimplePress for the forum. They have "power blog" which allows each user to have an individual blog though to me it just looks like posts.

My question is am I on the right track thinking it will be simpler to allow each user's "blog" to have their own forum in the forum?
