Footer widget from Streamline

I am wanting to use the Lifestyle Theme for the layout but want to use the footer widgets like on streamline footer - can I just copy the footer.php from the streamline theme and replace it with the footer.php on lifestyle? Hoping this wont muck up the layout/theme
