Default WP Question - Image Metadata

I wonder if anyone here has any knowledge about this. Recently, I was the victim of web plagiarism involving text and images from one of my websites. I've been taking steps to make my content less inviting, and easier to stake ownership of, especially with my images.

I use a third-party program to add metadata to my images not already added by my camera, including my name and copyright information.

I have noticed that when I upload this to Wordpress, the original image retains this information, but images resized by the tim thumb feature do not.

Is there anything I can do to retain that information in the resized images? I love this feature, especially with my Genesis child themes - saves me a lot of time creating custom thumbnails and such.

Many thanks!
