New Genesis slider and Agentpress

I am using the agentpress theme for a site and the slider on "slides" sideways. I like the idea of the new plugin / widget slider that will fade or have other transition options.

Will the new slider features be built into agentpress so I can update the way my slider works on my website?

Can I add the beta genesis slider widget to agentpress? Will it be compatible with the theme or break it?
