Remove Top Navbar?

Hello,

How do I remove the entire top navbar and remove the small gap between the top of the banner and the top of the browser screen?

I have done a search and this post: http://www.studiopress.com/support/v...+remove#p22702 is the closest I found to providing an answer, but it only explains how to remove the date.

Many thanks for your help!
