Will installing Genesis for a client affect existing page rank?

Default Will installing Genesis for a client affect existing page rank?
Quick Question -

I have a client with two wordpress blogs. I REALLY want them to use the Genesis framework and a Child theme -

They are scared to install Genesis because they are scared to lose their deep links on their blog. I didn't know if it would affect their page rank if I did an install of Genesis and a Child Theme. I know it will greatly IMPROVE their page rank once they start using Genesis and I made that point to them.

Can anyone give me some insight and advice?
