Good theme for a community website

I run websites using lifestyle as I love the general feel and the amount of content I can show off on the homepages.

For a new project, I will be creating a community site for wordpress users in asia. Of course I want to base this on genesis and a good child theme which I'll customize.

I`m really wanting a mobile responsive theme for this but also one that can show off a good selection of articles on the front page but compact enough not to have to scroll to far down the page to get to new content.

Does anybody have any ideas about what themes may suit this type of project.
Personally,I think the news theme,magazine or sleek themes (if mobile responsive) would be the best choices. Better to wait for these or go with eleven40 or driskell?
