Descriptions under gallery photos

I had to replace the Featured Gallery plugin because of conflicts in the IE browser. Finally after weeks of trying to fix featured gallery I replaced it with NextGen plugin. I did get it working on the home page but I would like the same feature as fcg displaying a description under each picture. I have added the description but can't get it to display so I think I have to include some code on the page containing the slider code. The code I have entered on a page created is:

[slideshow id=3 w=588 h=400]

I have read their material and have tried approx. 5 times for an answer in the forum for their support with no response.

Has anyone used this plugin and knows what code to add to the string I have above on the page calling the slider?
