Home Page Link Behind Banner

Hello,

I designed a 960x120 pixel image to replace header.png, is there a way to put a link to the home page behind this image. I installed the banner through the ftp and overwrited the previous file with the new banner.

Please include the code in the header.php where I'm supposed to insert this link.
