Next Gen - putting descriptions under slideshow on home page

Because of issues with Featured Content plugin on my www.chitchatmagazine.com site, I am now using Next Gen plugin to show a slider picture show on the home page similar in look as the original theme purchase. The 2 issues I have was that Featured Content had the ability to click on the pics and go to the posts and a description displayed showing what the pictures were about. I can't seem to figure out how to get this functionality again using this plugin.

I have entered the code below onto a post in order to have my pics display. Does anyone know the code I would insert and where in this string to get a description entered. I have already identified a description on the plugin setup pages but it is not displaying.

I have went to the wordpress.org support forum and requested this many times but no one seems to be answering any questions for this plugin and I was hoping someone has replaced Featured Content with this plugin and may know.
