I am using Wordpress 3.3.1 and the Genesis Blog framework. Any attempt to create an active link within a post fails. No matter what method I use within the "Edit Post" section of the Dashboard. Neither the "Blue underscored link" on the first line of icons will do anything or, the Link symbol on the line below.
One would assume that you have copied the active link into your clipboard, then selected the word/s within the blog post that you want to become the active link, then . . . . . . NOTHING. Clicking the blue highlighed Link on the first line does absolutely nothing, just responds to the fact that the mouse has moved over it, nothing more. -OR- If you do the above and click the 'Make a Link" symbol on the second line then you get the Insert/edit link dialog box. Then you: Paste active link into "URL" box, then Put a Word into the "Title" box, then click "open link . . . . . /tab." then click "Update." It then goes back to the Posts List Page with no options to "update" so I assume that it is Updated . . . . . Not so, no link. The Blogs name is http://whatsonmymind.info the post of concern is "Not Just Your Grandchildren's Problem: Global warming"
