How can I add "featured image" box in edit post - classic theme

How can I add "featured image" box in edit post - classic theme

I am still using the Revolution Magazine 3.0 and would like to use "featured image" feature.

However it looks like the theme does not support this. At least i can not see the "featured image box" in my backend when editing a post.
While the "featured image area" is shown when using the standard TwentyEleven template.

Is there any fix to enable "feature image" function on the "old" classic themes ?

Would be great if anybody could help.
