Import comments on a per-post basis?

Import comments on a per-post basis?

Hi

Does anyone know of a way to transfer comments between an 'old' and 'new' version of a Wordpress site, where the 'new' site has less posts and a different hierachy, meaning that a mass comment import is no use (it breaks and sprays comments randomly)?

I tried a fw db methods and a few plugins but this was a while ago. Anyone aware of a simple process that will allow full import of a "set" of comments to a specific post?
