Is Genesis & Wordpress

Hello,
I recently built a website using wordpress version 3.3, 2011 theme. Is genesis framework and genesis child theme compatible with the latest version of wordpress? I am new to webdesign and read somewhere that genesis is not compatible with the latest version of wordpress.
Advice is greatly appreciated!
