Adding Category Posts to Page

I've tried the following at http://www.studiopress.com/tutorials/category-blog-page however it doesn't seem to work.

I've installed the "Reveal IDs" plugin and have noted the ID of the category I wish to display on the page, however, after entering "query_args" and "cat=12" in the "Custom Fields" section it doesn't display after publishing the page.

I've checked the HTML tags of the page and nothing seems to be added to the page.

Any tips?
