Genesis Featured Post widget

Hi

I'm running Genesis with the Lifestyle child theme on a site with no problems.

One of the widgets I use is the Featured Posts Widget and want to use it in a non Genesis theme I'm developing. Is this allowed? If so, is it possible?

Unless someone knows of a plugin I can use instead.
