Hi,
I've never used Wordpress as a CMS for my "static" corporate website before, I've only ever used it for blogging. I need to have the FCG plugin display an image gallery on my homepage. I'm using Streamline 3.0 on WP 2.8. It's likely my own ignorance, but I can't seem to figure out how to get the featured content gallery to work. I've configured the FCG plugin as follows: - "Select here to use category selection" -> Category Name = Featured - Gallery Style -> Width = 450, Height = 300, Text Overlay = 80 - Under Advanced Custom Fields, checked featuredtext checkbox I've created a static "Home" page with page template set to "Default Template" and have set this page as the Front Page under Settings -> Reading and have set the default Posts page as my Blog page. I've also set the "Homepage Featured" option in the "Streamline Theme Options" settings to "Featured". The "Featured" category exists and I've created two posts under this category, each with an "articleimg" custom field value pointing to a valid image file path. The plugin documentation says that only 2 posts are needed. I'd like to have the Featured Content appear on my homepage; however, I'm not sure which template to use. I expected that there would be a homepage template but the only templates showing are "Default Template", "Archive", "Author", "Blog", "Full Width", "Product", and "Video" - no "Featured" or "Homepage" templates are available from the "Edit Page" screen. On the Blog page (it's using the Blog template), the Featured Content window is there, but there is no content within it. In IE, a scripting error states 'gallery' is undefined. I had a look at the source from the home page of the demo site for the Streamline template and from what I'm able to figure out, the header.php file ends with <div id="wrap">, at which point some other PHP file contains the "homepage" DIV, but I can't find any PHP files with that DIV ID. It looks like a page template is missing. The home.php file contains the entry: <?php include (ABSPATH . '/wp-content/plugins/featured-content-gallery/gallery.php'); ?> which is needed for the plugin to work its magic; however, home.php isn't a page template that I can select. Confused :? Thanks, Alan |
