Large files

I have about 30 large PDF files that I am going to be putting on my site. They are different subdivision covenants and restrictions. I was wonder if I need to host them somewhere else like imageshack or if it would be ok to upload them directly to my site. I have head some people say to keep the site as small as possible so that is why I ask. Thank you.
