Wordpress 2.8 causing theme to crash!

Hi... upgraded to wordpress 2.8 manually as suggested in another discussion. However, I am unable to edit without crashing my system. This is my first wordpress upgrade so I'm fairly new to all this. Does anyone know if this problem will be rectified? Wordpress 2.7 seemed so much easier to use. This version seems complicated. ARRGGHHHH!!! Can anyone help or at least put my mind at ease?
