We are very pleased to announce that Genesis 1.9 is now available.
New Look for Genesis
We are happy to announce the release of the Executive 2.0 child theme. This WordPress theme works on the Genesis Framework and can be downloaded by Pro Plus members in the support forum. Others can purchase the package here.
The Executive theme is the 19th theme released which has been developed to be mobile responsive in design. View all responsive WordPress themes.
With the recent announcement that Google is shutting down Feedburner’s API, we decided to get a jump start on possible replacements for the eNews and Updates widget that is currently inside of Genesis.
While the API shut down won’t affect the functionality of the widget, we will be softly deprecating it in Genesis 1.9 and removing it entirely in 2.0.
A few months ago I published separate tutorials on how to add content boxes and how to add color buttons to your website. Apparently that struck a cord because there was a number of people who left comments those posts.
With that said, I thought it’d make sense to make this process available here at StudioPress, considering we get a lot more traffic here than I do on my site.
Colored Content Boxes
We are happy to announce the release of the Education 2.0 child theme. This WordPress theme works on the Genesis Framework and can be downloaded by Pro Plus members in the support forum. All others can purchase the package here.
For those who already have the Education 1.0 theme, the updated version will be sent out to the email address you used to purchase.
The Education theme is the 11th theme released here which has been developed to be mobile responsive in design. View all responsive WordPress themes.
Last week WordPress 3.4 was released, and we are pushing out a “compatibility update” for Genesis to address a few minor bugs. While nothing major was reported since the released, there have been a few things that needed to be addressed.
We’re happy to announce that Genesis 1.8.2 is now available for download, and you should start to see the update notice in your dashboard.
If you don’t, go to the Appearance > Themes page there, and then head back to the dashboard homepage. This should trigger the update notice.
Are you looking to have your site built on the Genesis Framework? Have you had a chance to see all of the amazing sites built with it? If not, take some time to check out the Theme Showcase, and you’ll see just how powerful Genesis can be.
At StudioPress, we believe in giving credit where it’s due. Genesis serves as the foundation of more than 250,000 sites, and we’d like to show you who’s behind some of the best designed sites on the internet. Below you will meet some very talented people – whom we consider friends and are among the Genesis Developers we recommend that are available for hire.
I have been designing and creating websites for twelve years, and I started Viva la Violette in 2008. I’m a video game artist turned web designer, and I design using WordPress + StudioPress for my blog and web design projects. I would define my style as feminine and chic, and I love turning the web into a beautiful place one blog or website at a time.
I am very pleased to announce that we have released the Simple Social Icons plugin for WordPress. Simple Social Icons is an easy to use, customizable way to display icons that link visitors to your various social profiles.
With it, you can easily choose which profiles to link to, customize the color and size of your icons, as well as align them to the left or right, all from the widget form (no settings page necessary!).
The team here at StudioPress works hard to constantly create the very best premium WordPress child themes on the market.
However, we often pause to marvel at what others are accomplishing through their creative uses of the Genesis Framework for WordPress.
The team here at StudioPress has put together a basic guide for you on how to navigate Genesis (as well as a good bit of WordPress), and get your site going right out of the box.
Whether you’re just starting out with the Genesis Framework for WordPress, or you’ve been enjoying its power and flexibility for a while, this download should prove very helpful.
The guide is packed with 44 pages of useful and specific instructions on getting started with Genesis, including:
A few days ago I shared a link that shed some insight into the direction that we are heading here at StudioPress. There are 3 things that we’re very excited to share, so watch the video:
As we’ve already announced, StudioPress themes will be updated for responsive design which will make them mobile-friendly. Devices such as the iPhone, iPad, Android and others will be optimized for a better viewing experience without disrupting the integrity of the design you have on your site.
With the exponential increase of mobile device and tablet users, the concept of responsive web design is becoming more relevant to what we do here at StudioPress. While there are some plugins that exist which make a theme “mobile”, we decided to take matters into our own hands.
There’s no denying the longterm effects that mobile devices will have on web design. Sara happens to think so as well:
