I'm an author and wanted to provide an ability for my reader to ask a question and then I could answer it. But have not found a Plugin that does this in a simple way. They all seem designed for something like a Forum (definitely not what I want).
I would want a Question (or 2 or 3) with my answers in a widget on the front page and then a link so they can go to a separate Page where they can see all the questions and answers, and also submit their own question. Everything I've seen so far is a lot more complicated and is setup so that all users can provide an answer--has all sorts of status items like Open, Answered, Unanswered, and a lot of other features I don't want and can't use. I just want people to submit questions that I can answer, and they can see other questions and corresponding answers.

You can create a page with your form, when an entry is saved, it creates a standard WordPress post, then use WordPress comments for the dialog. This is exactly how Formidable manages their community forum: https://community.formidableforms.com/help-desk/
I doubt that you'll find a plugin that will do what you want out of the box.

Not a Coder myself so if it isn't too difficult I might be able to manage it. Does someone have to be a user on my site to submit a question? I was thinking of just creating a form in Contact 7 to submit the question and then I was going to create a Page for the Q&A where I would Copy & Paste the Question on the Page, then enter an Answer. A little bit more labor, but it won't be like I will be getting a lot of questions per day. I figured I could just use the Genesis Featured Page in my Widget on the Front Page to show a sampling of Q & A. Not sure if this would work--just working on it right now.
