I'm setting up a shop to sell digital goods (primarily ebooks). This is my first ecommerce store so i don't really know what I'm doing...I've been reading a lot about Woocommerce...has anyone ever used Woocommerce? Is it compatible with Genesis? Does it matter which child theme I use? I also came across this plugin http://wordpress.org/plugins/genesis-connect-woocommerce/. Is this plugin a must in order to use Woocommerce on Genesis?
Any help would be appreciated 🙂

add_theme_support( 'woocommerce' );
" then WooCommerce will work.For Genesis Connect WooCommerce plugin have two main requirements. One is WooCommerce Plugin and 2nd one is that
add_theme_support( 'genesis-connect-woocommerce' );
will be existed in your child theme's functions.php file. Then Genesis Connect WooCommerce plugin will be activated.I created two shop child themes using GF, WC & GCW plugin. See the demo here http://demo.pwdtechnology.com/cakeshop/ & http://demo.pwdtechnology.com/anu/

https://easydigitaldownloads.com/
It's free, and pretty simple to use. WooCommerce is more complicated in some ways.
You'll want to use David Decker's Genesis Connect for EDD too (also free):

@genwrock - So do I have to add that php codeadd_theme_support( 'genesis-connect-woocommerce' );
to my child's functions.php file? I am using Magazine Pro...Thanks

March 3, 2014 at 2:56 pm #93263SummerMemberThe WooCommerce base plugin is free, but you have to pay for add-ons in order to use digital goods and the newer Paypal payments features, and those are $79 or $99 per year each.
I think Easy Digital Downloads uses Paypal Standard payments built in, but you would need to buy extensions to do Paypal Pro or Paypal Express.
WP eStore is a decent premium plugin for selling digital goods, and it's a one-time payment sort of plugin. I've used it on and off again over the past 4-5 years.
I've also used WPMU's MarketPress, and they have a digital products feature (but I personally haven't used it).

Love coffee, chocolate and my Bella!
