I am trying to create a menu item that links to posts labeled under a specific category upcoming events.
However, when I attempt to go to "http://deliverancebc.org/topics/upcomingevents/" I am led to a blank page.
I have deactivated all my plugins but none seem to be causing the problem. I did do three updates to the wordpress default themes, but that should have no bearing on my studio press theme? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
http://deliverancebc.org/topics/upcomingevents/
KataraApril 3, 2016 at 6:47 pm #182820ChristophMemberHi Katara,
try re-saving your permalinks.
In the WordPress Dashboard go to Settings - Permalinks and click on Save Changes.

April 3, 2016 at 11:05 pm #182845ChristophMemberAre you using a special page template for the upcomingevents?
It looks like a php error when this page loads.Does it work if you use one of the WordPress default themes?
April 3, 2016 at 11:10 pm #182846katji83MemberHi Christoph,
I'm not using a special page template for upcoming events and the link does work on the default themes.
Thanks,
KataraApril 3, 2016 at 11:13 pm #182847katji83MemberI also noticed I don't have an .htaccess file, could this be the problem?
April 3, 2016 at 11:25 pm #182848ChristophMemberYou can always create an empty .htaccess file in the website root folder and see if it makes a difference.
You might have write permission issues on the server. But since the standard themes are working, I doubt it would be the cause.
Maybe something went wrong during one of the Genesis updates.
You could try uploading a new copy of the Genesis Framework. There are some weird things going on that I cannot troubleshoot from the outside.
(the autor link http://deliverancebc.org/author/deliverancebc/ and http://deliverancebc.org/topics/dbcevents/ also show white screens)I'd recommend you contact the official Studiopress support at my.studiopress.com/help
They might know of a plugin or settings conflict.

April 4, 2016 at 12:31 am #182853katji83MemberSo I ran WP-Debug for this page and this is what I came up with, however I'm not sure what any of it means?
Notice: Undefined index: action in /home/delivera/public_html/wp-content/plugins/wp-filemanager/wp-filemanager.php on line 65 Strict Standards: Redefining already defined constructor for class googlefonts in /home/delivera/public_html/wp-content/plugins/wp-google-fonts/google-fonts.php on line 279 Warning: session_start(): Cannot send session cache limiter - headers already sent (output started at /home/delivera/public_html/wp-content/plugins/wp-filemanager/wp-filemanager.php:65) in /home/delivera/public_html/wp-content/plugins/wp_edit_pro_responsive_filemanager/main_fm.php on line 176 Notice: The called constructor method for WP_Widget is deprecated since version 4.3.0! April 4, 2016 at 4:59 am #182860Victor FontModeratorDeactivate the wp-filemanager plugin and see if the problem goes away. That plugin hasn't been tested for compatibility with WordPress since version 3.5.2. It's using code that no longer works with WordPress.

Have you requested your free website audit yet?April 4, 2016 at 1:49 pm #182905katji83MemberThanks Victor:
I deactivated and deleted that plugin and the problem still exists. I then deactivated all my plugins one by one and my categories page is still blank.
April 4, 2016 at 3:54 pm #182920SusanModeratorIf you have deactivated all your plugins, and that does not resolve your issue,
and the issue *is* resolved if you switch to a default WordPress theme, then I recommend deleting the Genesis Framework, and reinstalling a fresh download.April 4, 2016 at 6:36 pm #182926katji83MemberThanks, I deleted and reinstalled a fresh install of genesis 2.27 and the problem still exists 🙁
April 4, 2016 at 7:06 pm #182927katji83MemberSigh, at the advice of this website since none of the proposed solutions have worked. I added this
define('WP_MEMORY_LIMIT', '64M')
to my wp-config file and it did not change the issue. However, when I deleted this from the wp-config file it completely ruined my page and I'm not sure what to do at this point.April 4, 2016 at 7:20 pm #182929SusanModeratorHave you submitted a support ticket to StudioPress?
April 4, 2016 at 7:21 pm #182930katji83MemberYes and they told me it was a plugin issue, but now my entire page is wiped out...well its not appearing ever since I added and removed define('WP_MEMORY_LIMIT', '64M') from the config file.
April 7, 2016 at 2:21 pm #183128katji83MemberThanks everyone for your help! The issue has been resolved. I had a blank index.php file in my theme folder which was causing the problem. Who knew? Thanks! StudioPress support figured it out 🙂
