Hi there,
this time I feel like I'm asking something difficult, but let's see, maybe it's easier than I think!So, on the home page of my test site:
http://exclusiveskills.com
you can see posts displayed in a grid, unfortunately you can't see the images.I want to see the images, not the titles. Since they are image-posts all I want is being able to have a grid of pictures that the reader can click to go to the post page.
I want the image to not be cut, but I want to be able to see it all (of course smaller, then when you click on it you get on the post page and see it full size).
How do you do that?
I've tried to play with the function.php and home.php but after crashing my site a couple a times I decided to ask for help!Fabio
July 20, 2013 at 3:33 pm #51642AnitaKeymasterGo to your Home.php file and look for something similar to this:
'grid_image_size' => 'grid-thumbnail', 'grid_image_class' => 'alignnone', 'grid_content_limit' => 250, 'more' => __( '[Continue reading]', 'genesis' ),
Replace YOURS with MINE.
Now open up your Functions.php file and look something similar to this. If the grid-thumbnail image is not in there - add it.
/** Add new image sizes */ add_image_size( 'grid-thumbnail', 110, 110, TRUE ); add_image_size( 'featured', 340, 220, TRUE );
<b>**Note**</b>Because of the type of content you have on your website - if you need to post again - please put a disclaimer on the post so that people know it may be X-Rated. Thank you.

thanks for your reply.I've copied and pasted this:
/** Add new image sizes */ add_image_size( 'grid-thumbnail', 110, 110, TRUE ); add_image_size( 'featured', 340, 220, TRUE );
at the bottom of my function.php
and swapped this
'grid_image_size' => 'grid-thumbnail', 'grid_image_class' => 'alignnone', 'grid_content_limit' => 250, 'more' => __( '[Continue reading]', 'genesis' ),
with the pre-existing similar bit in my home.php
but absolutely nothing changed.
Could you please check if I did it wrong or what?Thanks
p.s. I'll write xrated next time đŸ™‚July 20, 2013 at 4:13 pm #51647AnitaKeymasterDo you have any images in there as your Featured Images?

July 20, 2013 at 4:37 pm #51649FabioParticipantThe images are automatically imported by rss feed, it doesnt set any featured image I think.
Is there a way to make the post-image the featured image by default?Thanks
July 21, 2013 at 4:27 am #51682FabioParticipantHi there,
when I manually set a featured image it appears very small. I've tried to change the numbers here:/** Add new image sizes */ add_image_size( 'grid-thumbnail', 110, 110, TRUE ); add_image_size( 'featured', 340, 220, TRUE );
but nothing changed and the image appears tiny.
Also, I don't know what happened but after I pasted the code you gave me the titles of my posts in the grid appear to go "out of the grid" which is pretty ugly looking.
Could you please help me fix this?
Thank youp.s. Brad Daltoooon! Please come help!
July 21, 2013 at 8:57 am #51694AnitaKeymasterYou need to regenerate your thumbnails when you switch images sizes. Install this - http://wordpress.org/plugins/regenerate-thumbnails/. If you want the images to float to the left - change alignnone to alignleft also.

July 21, 2013 at 9:14 am #51697FabioParticipantHi Anita, thanks.
The thing is that I don't want a stretched looking thumbnail, but I would like to see the image in high definition and bigger.
Also, I still haven't found a way to get the image in the post to be set automatically as featured image.Is there a way to get the image in the post to be automatically displayed in a grid like a "photo gallery"?
Since I'm going to post thousands of pictures multiple times a day I would like the home page to be like a photogallery that updates continuously every 10 minutes throughout the day.
I know it would be easier to change theme altogether, but I need to use this theme.
Thanks
July 21, 2013 at 11:30 am #51708AnitaKeymasterI am a bit confused by what you want. I see one of the thumbnail images on the page. The theme will not upsize an image, it will only downsize. You have to set up your thumbnail image sizes, then add the featured image to your posts via the Featured Image function. As I stated before, you will then need to regenerate your thumbnail images if you ever change the size of the thumbnails in the functions.
