My site is duplicating the meta description on both the home page and blog post pages. I can't figure out how to fix it. Site= https://www.frostandsun.com/
I switched child themes recently, thinking perhaps it was a problem with the child theme, but that didn't pan out (went from Simply Pro to Infinity Pro about a week ago).
I use Yoast SEO plugin. I disabled it, but that didn't fix the problem either.
I searched old posts on this forum. One suggested the breadcrumbs were the problem, but I only enabled breadcrumbs on my site when I applied the new theme about a week ago.
The only thing I can think of is if the Genesis SEO settings didn't get shut off when I added Yoast SEO plugin? But I'm not sure how to validate that theory.
ETA: I am using Genesis 2.5.2, Simply Pro 1.1.2 and Yoast 5.2. Also, I disabled all plugins at one point and still no fix, so I don't think this is a clash with a plugin.
Any tips on what could be causing this problem?

I'm not sure what you're seeing, but don't confuse meta description with og:description (facebook open graph) or twitter:description, which are also present in your meta data.

Have you requested your free website audit yet?August 15, 2017 at 7:25 am #210386mhigginbothamMemberHi Victor,
Thank you for taking a look. The 2 meta descriptions are there. I'm not confusing 2 different lines of code. If you look at it in Firefox, it's lines 7 and 95. Both start with "meta name="description".
August 15, 2017 at 8:34 am #210391Victor FontModeratorI see the other one now. Genesis SEO is definitely turned off if you have Yoast enabled. That code is bullet proof. That second description is pretty far down in the header to be coming from Genesis. Do you have Genesis Simple Hooks installed? Maybe there's some custom code there. It could also be coming from any number of plugins you have installed. Jetpack maybe?
I would go through the process of disabling plugins one-by-one until you find one that could be causing the conflict.

Have you requested your free website audit yet?August 15, 2017 at 10:37 am #210394mhigginbothamMemberHi Victor,
I don't have Simple Hooks installed. I have Jetpack though and I know it's known to cause conflict with other plugins and themes. I thought the duplicate meta descriptions were still showing up when I disabled all my plugins when trying to troubleshoot a different problem a week or 2 ago. But, I will test this again and see if that might be the culprit.
August 15, 2017 at 5:00 pm #210424mhigginbothamMemberLooks like Jetpack was the problem! The multiple descriptions issue disappeared after I disabled the plugin. I haven't fixed it yet, but have reached out to Jetpack to see if there is something that can be fixed without having to permanently get rid of the plugin.
Thanks for your help, Victor!
